Mono propylene glycol is a colorless (transparent like water), odorless, fluid, and sweet product. The most common production process is the hydrolysis of propylene oxide under high temperature and high-pressure conditions. The resulting mono propylene glycol is a water-based product that is also highly soluble in essential oils. It is used as a raw material in food products to balance moisture and temperature, in cosmetics and pharmaceutical production, in the production of food and industrial dyes, in car care products, and in many manufacturing industries.
