Mono propylene glycol is a colorless (transparent like water), odorless, fluid, and sweet product. The most common production process is the hydrolysis of propylene oxide under high temperature and high-pressure conditions. The resulting mono propylene glycol is a water-based product that is also highly soluble in essential oils.
